The temple of KAMALESWARA was one of the prominent Siva temple of Hajo. The temple of Kamaleswara was built by King Pramatta Singha in the 18th century. possesses a big image of Lord Ganesha carved out on the elephant-shaped rock.This temple is called Deba Bhabana and is the meeting place of other deitiesof the Panchatirtha on special occasions. Besides these temples known as Panchatirthas,there is another important Hindu temple dedicated to Jay Durga, the mother Goddess. The temple was build by King Lakshminath Singha in 1774 A.D.There is a ten armed stone image of Durga on its alter.
HAJO KEDARESWAR TAMPLE
The Kedareswar Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is located on the Madanachala Hill in Hajo. This Shiva temple is regarded as one of the oldest temples in the Indian subcontinent.This temple enshrines a huge Shivalinga, made of stone, which is popularly known as the Svayambhu Linga. It is also referred to as the Ardhanariswara form of Lord Shiva. This Shivalinga is always covered by a huge metal bowl.
HAJO DHOPARGURI SATRA
Dhoparguri Satra was constructed by Madhavdeva in 1587. At the time of its construction, this satra had only three rooms; however, it now has many holy spots like the Gokrana, Vikrana and Swargdwar.
